Girl Awards

Information found in this Girl Awards section is basic information about award opportunities available to girls in grades 6-12.  Use the navigation on the left to visit specific award opportunities.

If you want to earn the Girl Scout Silver or Gold Awards, you must first determine which set of requirements you will follow:

  • If you did any requirements prior to October 1, 2009, you may want to continue under the old guidelines in your Studio 2B “Go for It” modules.  Or you may choose to begin the new way.
  • Any girl who registered as a Girl Scout Cadette (grades 6, 7, 8), Girl Scout Senior (grades 9, 10), or Girl Scout Ambassador (grades 11, 12) in the fall of 2009 or after must follow the new guidelines as described on the GSUSA website.

Forms for both old (Studio 2B) and new way (Discover, Connect, Take Action) for the Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards may be found at the Form Fountain.

Be sure to check out all the scholarships for Girl Scouts.

Girl Scout Silver and Gold Award Workshops:
Girl Scout Cadette Troop/Group Volunteers/Advisors are encouraged to take “Guiding the Journey” and a “Silver Award Workshop” to learn how to guide your troop/group through the Girl Scour Silver Award process.  These workshops are for adults only.

Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors in the 9th grade or above and their troop volunteers/advisors are encouraged to take a “Girl Scout Gold Award Workshop” to learn step-by-step requirements for the Girl Scout Gold Award.  Troop volunteers/advisors are also encouraged to take “Guiding the Journey.”

To view upcoming training workshops for the Girl Scout Silver or Gold Award, go to Learning Opportunities on the Web. Search all Instructor Led classes using “gold” or “silver" as your search word.
